Mark is passionate about developing organisations to realise the benefits of collaborative working. He has supported a range of organisations to develop their internal collaborative processes and behaviours to be more successful in their business relationships.

As Chair of the ISO11000 international panel I am overseeing the development of BS11000 to an international standard. This continues to gather momentum currently with over twenty participating countries (incl. China and US).

He is a successful Proposals/Bid Director with Balfour Beatty on a wide range of sector experience, managing diverse types of complex multi-disciplinary major project tenders (£25m to £500m+) with a wide range of cross-sector clients. His experience covers Frameworks (Rail, MoD, LUL, BAA and Foreign & Commonwealth Office), Energy (Power Stations, LNG Facilities, Waste to Energy), Early Contractor Involvement (ECI – Highways Agency), Private Finance Initiative (PFI), DBFO, Design & Build and Construct projects. He has over thirty year’s experience, gained with Contracting and Consulting companies, in the UK and overseas with both the public and private sectors.

He has particular experience in successfully managing complex multi-disciplinary programme and project bids and, through his distinct leadership and team motivation skills is able to maintain focus on the key client issues.

Through his strong engineering background, he is able to challenge approaches, to ensure adoption of competitive solutions.

Mark is also a people and ‘soft issues’person, and has supported and mentored senior people in a range of organisations.

Over his last three years with Balfour Beatty he led the cross-sector Collaborative Working initiatives which culminated in Balfour Beatty PLC achieving certification to BS11000 –Collaborative Business Relationships across their strategic client partnerships (these include Network Rail, BAA, National Grid, DoD, HA and Bank of America).
