Lucy has worked alongside People Positive since finishing her degree in International Development in 2004. She joined on a graduate programme to focus on setting up a Youth Trust, working with schools and youth groups in the Highlands. Whilst continuing to support People Positive in corporate facilitation and teambuilding, Lucy took a training secondment in Africa and subsequently spent a decade living and working in Malawi and the USA.
During her time abroad, Lucy trained youth workers in Malawi and contributed to writing the CCAP Youth Strategy. She was also involved in a number of paid and voluntary projects ranging from travel writing for a local magazine, running Kayak Africa, an eco island lodge on Lake Malawi, running team building and leadership development for local charities as well as working for The Responsible Safari Company expanding their product to include new countries. Lucy also established her own business, Chikondi Tea, which packaged and sold tea to hotels, lodges and gift shops in Malawi.
Now settled back in the UK, Lucy juggles the joys of raising two boys with work activity. She continues to support People Positive, organising, planning and delivering large Safety Leadership Conferences for Oil & Gas clients as well as project teamwork delivery in other sectors. Lucy has also spent many years working on projects in the Tourism Industry and latterly Estates Management.
